Buckaroo

Buckaroo

Talented import Buckaroo showed he is going to be a force to be reckoned with this spring when demolishing his rivals in the Group 1 at Caulfield.

Having been gelded over the summer, Buckaroo returned this preparation with an impressive win in the Chelmsford Stakes (Gr 2, 1600m) and Waller’s assistant Charlie Duckworth said the operation had had the desired effect on the six-year-old.

“As a colt, he was actually too laid-back but now, as a gelding, he’s actually got a bit of spring in his step and he’s a bit more vibrant,” Duckworth said.

Brazen Beau

Brazen Beau’s career began strongly as a 2YO, winning on debut and then winning the Group 2 BRC Champagne Classic (2014).

During the 2014 Spring Carnival, he claimed his first Group 1 in the Coolmore Stud Stakes and then his second in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (2015).

“He’s done everything well and truly beyond anything we could have asked from him.”

Come Play With Me

Come Play With Me

Come Play With Me won 13 races, reaching a career pinnacle when he weaved through the 14-horse field to win his Group 1, The Metropolitan (2019).

A momentous day for Chris Waller, but also for Come Play With Me’s former trainer, Adam Durrant who trained this galloper to 12 wins before sending him to Sydney, to be prepared under Waller’s sturdy guidance for the 2019 Spring Carnival.

“He was there to win the race half way up the straight and Tommy (Berry, Gallic Chieftain) put a margin on him, but to his credit he kicked back and fought on.”

Comin’ Through

Comin’ Through

Comin’ Through was always an above-average galloper, winning the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes, Group 3 Bill Ritchie Stakes, Group 2 Ajax Stakes and Group 2 Tramway Stakes.

These Stakes wins are overshadowed by Comin’ Through’s phenomenal run in the 2014 Group 1 BRC Doomben Cup.

“I think a horse of his calibre and ability is worthy and when he turns up he’s right there with them. When he’s on song he beats the best milers going around.”

Delectation

Delectation

Delectation began his career strongly, with three wins as a 2YO, and his first Stakes race as a 3YO in the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes (2015).

During the Spring Carnival, Delectation claimed a momentous victory in the Group 1 Darley Classic (2015). It was this Group 1 win that saw him prevail against runner-up and race favourite, Chautauqua.

“He proved himself today. He won fair and square, coming from behind Chautauqua and a lot of really good sprinters.”
