Leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller has included five horses in the field for the 2014 Show County Quality that will be run at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
The most excited Waller-trained horse in the 2014 Show County Qualify field is imported stayer Our Voodoo Prince, who has recorded three wins from as many starts since making his racing debut in Australia.
Our Voodoo Prince was sent to the spelling paddock after he took out the Group 3 Easter Cup (2000m) at Caulfield on April 19 and has been touted as a leading contender for the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m).
Junoob has also been included in the nominations for the Caulfield Cup and will be returning to the races for the first time since he finished third in the Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m) in Brisbane on May 17.
The imported stayer was given a lengthy first campaign in Australia, but worked his way through the grades impressively to stamp himself as a genuine Group level performer.
Moriarty, who has been allocated the top weight of 58 kilograms, will also be returning to Sydney racing after having four race starts during the 2014 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival, while Bull Point and Whittington will be having their first starts for the Waller stable after previously being prepared by Gai Waterhouse.
While Waller has a strong hand in the Show County Quality field, he will not have it his own way in the Group 3 event; with a number of talented gallopers included in the acceptances for the race.
Team Hawkes-trained Ninth Legion will be returning to the races for the first time since he finished an outstanding fifth in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Royal Randwick on April 12 and will likely relish the wet track expected on Saturday, while veteran gelding Monton will also be having his first race start since running in the Doncaster Mile.
Terravista has recorded six wins from nine starts during his racing career to date and has performed well in two barrier trials ahead of the start of his 2014 Spring Racing Carnival campaign.
The Captain Rio gelding failed to fire on a wet track in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 29, but trainer Joseph Pride is confident that he will have no problems handling the rain affected surface on Saturday.
Arguably the most interesting runner in the 2014 Show County Quality field is promising entire Cluster, who will be returning to Group level for the first time since he finished tenth in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) last year.
Cluster has recorded two wins from two starts since joining the Team Snowden stable and his form was franked when Rock Sturdy won the Go The Tahs Handicap (1350m) at Rosehill Gardens on August 2.
Rounding out the 2014 Show County Quality field are last start winner Oakfield Commands (barrier three) and Phillip Atkins-trained In Cahoots (barrier ten).
