Newgate Farm confirmed that Militarize, its three-time Group 1-winning son of Dundeel, would be standing the upcoming season at the Hunter Valley stud.
Earlier in the day, Coolmore announced that Shinzo would be taking up a position on its stallion roster for 2024.
Shinzo provided Waller with his maiden Golden Slipper win when he won last year’s event.
Militarize, who finished 13th in the Slipper after striking interference, then came out and won the ATC Sires and Champagne Stakes at Group 1 level.
Militarize retires a winner of four of his 13 starts and a tick over $2.5 million in stakes.
The third of his Group 1 wins came in last year’s Golden Rose.
The colt was winless in four starts this campaign but ran second to Fangirl at weight-for-age in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes and was also runner-up to Celestial Legend in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas.
He also finished third against older horses in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes and Group 1 Doncaster Mile, when he conceded 5kg to winner Celestial Legend.
Shinzo and Militarize follow Cylinder as high-profile colts who have been retired to stud in recent weeks.
Cylinder, who finished second to Shinzo in the Golden Slipper and won this year’s Newmarket Handicap, was retired to stand at Darley’s Victorian base earlier this month.
