Invincibella makes amends at Flemington

An improved Invincibella has lived up to the expectations of trainer Chris Waller racing away to a comfortable stakes race win at Flemington.

Heavily backed to run the $3.20 favourite, Invincibella took out Saturday’s Group Two Blazer Stakes in emphatic fashion.

The victory made amends for a luckless performance at Rosehill on September 22.

“Last start she was a certainty beaten and it was safe riding, Hugh called it, and it’s been justified today in that win,” Waller said.

Ridden by Hugh Bowman, Invincibella raced away to a 2-1/2 length win from Savatiano ($3.70) with Mamzelle Tess ($101) in third place.

Waller said he’s unsure of immediate plans with the mare but said he’s likely to aim Invincibella at the Group One Myer Classic at Flemington on November 3.

“She’s a multiple Group Two winner now and I’m not sure in terms of distance how far she’ll go,” Waller said.

“I guess now that we’ve come this far we’ll have a look at the Myer.

“It’s still a fair while until the Flemington carnival but that’s the beauty of the spring, both in Melbourne and Sydney, they’re plenty of races available.” – AAP
