Caulfield Guineas contender Tron Bolt has tuned up for Saturday’s Group 1 blockbuster with a reconnaissance track gallop.
Tron Bolt, trained by Chris Waller, cruised around Caulfield on Tuesday morning.
Waller has four colts set for the Caulfield Guineas (1600m), including Group 1 winner Tron Bolt, Diameter, Somethings Burnin’ and Central Europe.
“Tron Bolt had a good look around the track, which is good,” Waller said.
“He’s a very talented colt, with a Group 1 next to his name and his run in the Golden Rose was certainly a pass mark and he’ll appreciate stepping up to the 1600m here.
“Hopefully we can see him draw a good barrier, which I think will be a big thing, a good barrier is always important in the Caulfield Guineas, or any race, so naturally my horses when they draw wide they generally drift back, find a spot, relax, get the first half of the race right.
“You’re banking on so much luck (wide draws) and speed to be able to win, so if he draws a good gate he could be closer.”
Waller has won the past two Caulfield Guineas with Private Life and Autumn Boy.
The champion trainer also saddled The Autumn Sun (2018) and Press Statement (2015).
Warwoven and Blind Raise dominate Caulfield Guineas markets, prior the barrier draw on Tuesday at Caulfield.
Call Me Coach, trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman, also galloped on Tuesday.
