Chris Waller Racing expanded north acquiring the Gold Coast training facility in 2017. This gives us the opportunity to have a permanent base and guaranteed boxes for the Magic Millions carnival as well as the Queensland winter carnival. Horses thrive in the Queensland weather so it is a great place for horses during the cooler months, providing them with a nice change of scenery.
The Gold Coast has some of the finest facilities in Australia, with a state of the art equine swimming pool, five different track training surfaces, river riding tracks and access to the beautiful Gold Coast beaches, a pastime which the horses love. As part of our horse’s education and race fitness training, we also engage in weekly jumpouts and barrier trials every three weeks.
Within the stable, we have a private treadmill and a horse walker that has helped to modernise our operation in the Gold Coast. We have created a wonderful environment for our horses, with the success of the team speaking for itself.
Located in Sydney’s West, Rosehill Gardens is home to our primary racing operation. Rosehill Gardens offers world class facilities that are comprised of five training tracks with different surfaces, a 50m swimming pool, walking machines, a private treadmill and aqua treadmill. Weekly jumpouts, fortnightly barrier trials and the opportunity to use the course proper regularly, allows our horse’s to be educated and trained to the highest of standards.
Contemporary stabling allows for temperature control with open air stables, a state of the art mist spray system as well as automatic blinds to maintain an ideal temperature during the cooler winter months.
Rosehill Gardens is home to 140 horses at any given time during the year, as such we strive to provide them with the best possible care available with a highly trained team on hand. Click here to meet the team.
Chris Waller Racing expanded in 2014 with the procurement of Tie the Knot Lodge, a facility named in honour of the late Guy Walter. Located at Warwick Farm racecourse, the facility is surrounded by beautiful landscape that provides horses with the tranquility of the countryside but the opportunities of a metropolitan training preparation.
The facilities are set on 380 acres of land, with five training tracks with different surfaces,a swimming pool and weighing scales.
Tie the Knot Lodge is home to 23 horses at any given time during the year. We have sheltered yards and modern and spacious stables that provide good air circulation and insulation to moderate the temperature throughout the year.
Chris Waller Racing expanded to Victoria in 2014, securing a small number of boxes at the heritage listed Flemington Racecourse. As a top-tier training facility, Flemington has sand, grass and ViscoRide training tracks in addition to five other training track surfaces. Weekly jumpouts and trials are also used in conjunction with walking machines, sand rolls and a state-of-the art swimming pool for education and race fitness purposes. We also have a private treadmill at our stable complex which enables us to give more variation in our horses work regime.
The wellbeing of our horses is always a priority, and we are lucky enough to be in close proximity to Altona beach. Only 20 minutes from the racecourse, we take the horses on regular trips, providing them with a change of scenery which is good for the mind, and muscle recovery.
